University of Wolverhampton

 Fideline  is currently head of the Energy and Green Technology Research Group within the Centre for Engineering Innovation and Research at the University of Wolverhampton. The Group has a multidisciplinary team of academics and researchers driving cross-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research on thematic areas that encompass energy, food and ecosystem health. She received her Ph.D at the University of Birmingham , UK during which she worked at the interface of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering to develop lower fat food to tackle the obesity.  Her research is centred around sustainable energy and food systems. 

Liverpool John Moores University

Ndy is currently the Faculty Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean for Engineering and Technology at Liverpool John Moores University. His research interests are in Electronics Interconnections, Assembly and Packaging and his research projects are mainly focused on increasing science-based understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and materials. He also has a growing interest in Renewable Energy, Battery Storage and other technologies for Energy Infrastructure and technologies for Smart Cities. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Liverpool John Moores University

David is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University. He is also part of the General Engineering Research Institute (GERI). He achieved his PhD in Engineering in 1984 at Liverpool John Moores University and has since had many successful appointments at the University until attaining his Professorship in 2003. David specialises in reconfigurable hardware implementation, acoustic imaging and microscopy for microelectronics and microelectronic package evaluation and characterisation.

 Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté

Samuel's background focuses on physics and materials science, including several years of experience in photoluminescence of semiconductors, fluorescence of transition elements and rare earths. He is an expert in Raman Spectroscopy of polar materials and has a wide variety of technical skills which include optical and vibrational properties at micro and nano scales, morphic effects, residual stresses of composites and devices and temperature and phase transition. His educational and business backgrounds have been as an Associate Professor in Diluted and Condensed Matter at the University of Lorraine and conducting Delegation CNRS at the FEMTO-ST Institute. Samuel is specifically interested in material R&D, optical properties at ultimate scales, material identification and micro / nano structure analysis.

Silesian University of Technology

Krzysztof is an Assistant Professor at the Silesian University of Technology. He received his MSc and Ph.D in Computer Science from the Silesian University of Technology in 1996 and 2005 respectively. From 2012 to 2019 he was the Vice Head of the Institute of Informatics for Teaching, and from 2013 to 2019 the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science for Organization and Development.

Sensor City Liverpool

Colin is the CEO of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool), which is transforming almost half of Liverpool City Centre into a world-leading innovation district. He started his career in the music industry, managing bands and owning nightclubs in Manchester, before moving on to produce major televised events internationally.

Colin was CEO of Manchester’s investment agency (MIDAS) and, before taking up his role in KQ Liverpool, was a Director at the property developers Bruntwood, leading their diversification into science parks and creative workspace.

Colin has recently taken up the dual role of CEO of Sciontec Liverpool, a new development company that has been created to bring new investment to the city regions science and tech business facilities, whilst creating a world-leading innovation ecosystem to help commercialise research and grow innovation-led companies.

He has also more recently been appointed as the new Sensor City Executive Director.

Tampere University

 Johanna is an adjunct professor and researcher at Tampere University, Finland. Her current research interests focus on textile-integrated wireless electronics. In 2016, she received a competitive five-year Academy Research Fellowship from the Academy of Finland. In 2017, she was given the title of adjunct professor in the field of “additive fabrication methods and materials for wireless sensing systems,” and in 2018, she received the Young Researcher Award of the Year 2018 from the Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion 

SAMK University of Applied Sciences

Dr Sari Merilampi is currently Head of Well-being Enhancing Technology research group at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences. She is also a founding member, shareholder, and board member of an electronics development company Porel Ltd in Finland. She received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Pori in December 2006 and D. Sc. (Tech.) degree in June 2011. Sari’s current research work includes new application possibilities of RFID, especially in the field of well-being and sensing, as well as well-being enhancing technology solutions in general. She has also worked with (mobile) games as a new tool for self-activation and rehabilitation. Sari has authored numerous publications in the field of passive UHF radio frequency identification (RFID), new technological tools for care sector as well as materials and manufacturing methods of electronics. Her personal goal is to enable living to full-capacity by means of person-centered technology. 

C-TEC

Dr Frank Claeyssen is the Managing Director for Cedrat Technologies and an expert in piezoelectroic actuators, magnostrictive materials and movement for aircraft, space, underwater and defense applications. He was awarded his engineering degree in 1985 from ISEN-IEMN Lille (France). From 1985 to 1989, he developed high-power Sonar Transducers in a lab of Sub Marine Detection of French Navy and passed his Ph.D. at INSA.  He has since been awarded several French National Prizes in 2006-2009. He is inventor of about 20 patented piezo or magnetic actuators, motors & sensors, such as the APA®. In 2012, he acquired CTEC and became the Managing Director. Since his acquisition, CTEC has doubled, reaching in 2019 a turnover of 6 M€ with a team of 50 people.  He also specialises in business development for sensor, actuators and mechatronics.

Annealsys

 Jean-Manuel Decams holds a Ph.D in Chemistry in synthesis of chemical precursors for CVD from the University of Nice. He is R&D Manager at Annealsys and responsible for process development and cooperation research projects. He has been involved in many development projects for superconductor, metals and high-k materials deposition by MOCVD. He holds several patents and is associated to a number of publications. He is co-inventor of state of the art direct liquid injection vaporization systems.
